2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup: Falconets Aiming to Win the Title – Danjuma

Falconets head coach, Chris Danjuma has expressed strong confidence in his team’s ability to clinch the title at the upcoming 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The Nigerian squad, which previously reached the finals in 2010 and 2014 but fell just short of victory, is determined to go all the way this time.

Speaking to FIFA.com, the 60-year-old coach highlighted his team’s readiness to make history. “I think we’re closing in on our goal. As Africans, we have a spiritual perspective,” Danjuma stated.

“We are confident that now is the right time to emulate the opportunities and events of 2010 and 2014. I am certain Africa will stand at the top of the world for the first time.”

Danjuma acknowledged the strength of their opponents, noting, “All three nations are keen to develop women’s football, so being in the same group is a privilege and promises to make for some closely-fought encounters.

“As ambassadors for women’s football in our country, we are proud to be going to Colombia to showcase our talent and our players’ skills.”

Nigeria has been drawn into Group D, where they will compete against Germany, Venezuela, and South Africa.
