Following her remarkable performance at the recently concluded U18 Women’s Afrobasket in Pretoria, Nigeria’s J’Tigress star, Idubamo Beggi has earned a spot on the tournament’s All-Star Team.

Beggi’s contributions were instrumental in helping Junior D’Tigress reach the final, as she consistently stamped her authority in each match.

The All-Star Team was announced on Saturday evening, with Beggi’s name prominently featured.

The championship-winning team, Mali, had two players included; Mama Sidiki Doumbia and Oummou Koumare while Cameroon and Angola were represented by Damaris Emedie and Resty Nanagwe, respectively.

Beggi played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s journey to the final, including standout performances such as her 23 points in both the opening loss to Egypt and the semifinal win over Uganda.

However, Mali managed to limit her impact in the final, holding her to 14 points. Throughout the tournament, Beggi also recorded 32 assists and 17 rebounds, underscoring her all-around contribution.

Despite falling short in the final, the Junior D’Tigress secured qualification for next year’s FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup.
