2024 FIBA U-18 AfroBasket Draw Released 

The stage is set for the 2024 FIBA U18 AfroBasket, with the official draw unveiled on Sunday at the unveiling ceremony at Kigali, Rwanda.

Top basketball nations across Africa prepare to battle and go head to head to the continental tournament.

Côte d’lvoire and Rwanda were awarded wildcards to complete a 12-team finalist.

DATE AND VENUE

The tournament will be hosted in South Africa and will take place in Pretoria from September 2nd- 14th.

The full schedule of the tournament will be announced later.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

In the group stage, teams will reportedly face off in a round-robin system.

The top two teams and two third best teams in each group (best losers) will advance to the Quarterfinals.

The top four teams will qualify to the Semi-Finals while the losers will face off in the classification games for the 5th to 8th places.

Third-Place and Final match will be played on the tournament closing day, September 14.

POST COMPETITION

Irrespective of the winner, the finalist of the FIBA U18 AfroBasket tournament will represent Africa at FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Switzerland, next year.
