Nigeria swept the podium in the Women’s Discus Throw event at the African Athletics Championships with Ashley Anumba claiming gold.

Anumba won the gold medal with an impressive last-round throw of 59.30 meters.

Her compatriot, Obiageri Amaechi, followed closely, clinching the silver with a throw of 58.80 meters.

Completing the Nigerian trifecta, Chioma Onyekwere took home the bronze with a final round effort of 57.96 meters.
