Nigerian forward Simmy Nwankwo was on action and he bagged a goal for his Club Crotone as they laboured to a 1-0 win against Pisa on Tuesday.
Nigerian forward Anthony Nwakaeme was in action for Turkish league leaders Trabzonspor in their clash with Fenerbahce on Tuesday but could not get a goal to his name.
Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi was not listed for action by West Bromich Albion for FA Cup fourth round against Newcastle United.
National Table Tennis coach Nosir Bello has stated that Nigeria will record a podium finish at the summer Olympic games in Tokyo Japan after leading the table tennis players to seal qualification at the recently concluded Olympic qualifying tournament in Tunisia.
Bello speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the progress report of the players are pointers to what they can achieve at the games.
He referenced Edem Offiong’s contiguous rise as well as Quadri’s rise in ranking and competitions as confidence booster.
“When you follow the progress report of these players, you will see the quality. There is hope for us to pick a medal at the Tokyo Olympics in Japan.
“If you can remember last Olympic in Brazil it hasn’t happened before where Aruna Quadri made the quarter final as a top 40 player in the world.
“But I tell you this time around there is hope for Nigeria to pick a Table Tennis medal in Tokyo.”

President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation Engr. Musa Kida is upbeat and exude strong optimism on Nigeria’s Basketball representation at the fast approaching Tokyo 2020 Olympics in Japan.
Heartland FC and Nigeria’s national team goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has stated that he hopes to see the Super Eagles of Nigeria cross the AFCON 2021 qualifiers finish line early.
Ezenwa made this remark in a telephone chat with Brila.net as the team get set to face Sierra Leone later this month in her third Group L AFCON 2021 qualifying match having won back to back games against Benin republic and Lesotho already in the opening two games.
Ezenwa told our reporter that everyone wants to see their country play at the 2021 AFCON proper and Nigeria is no exception.
He thereafter added that he hopes the Super Eagles can keep intact a recent record of ensuring qualification before the end of the qualifying campaign proper.
“Everybody is here to qualify their country for the nations cup.
“So we just have to do everything possible to make sure we get the job done before even the last game as usual because that has been our tradition,
“We always get it done a game to go and I keep praying for that same grace and favour to be upon this team.”
