Enyimba goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai has revealed that Enyimba have some injury concerns ahead of this weekend’s CAF Confederation cup quarter final first leg clash with Guinea side Horoya AC.
Afelokhai speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the spate of injuries is worrisome but that the team is good enough to Cole with whichever absence they will suffer also while also stating that Ifeanyi Anamena has been ruled out of the game.
“There are some injuries and some players are trying to recover from injury but by God grace, that will not stop us from winning our game. Players like Ifeanyi Anamena is out of the game, even our captain Abalogu is just retuning, he has injury before, those are our key players.”
Enugu Rangers Vice Captain Tope Olusesi has dismissed the threat of Nasarawa united ahead of today’s NPFL rescheduled fixture between home team Nasarawa united and Rangers in Lafia today.
Today’s fixture is coming just three days after ending Enyimba’s cruising run of 6 games winning streak in a 2-0 victory.
Olusesi speaking ahead of today’s clash told www.brila.net that the Flying Antelopes are optimistic of getting a positive result in Mafia to consolidate on the point picked on the road last time out against Sunshine stars last Sunday.
“Everybody have their own opinion. Nasarawa they have their opinion because they want to win. We believe that the home of Nasarawa united is a good place to pick a point or maximum points, it doesn’t matter whether they beat Enyimba here it’s football.
They might beat Enyimba and we will come out to give a different game but we are really confident we can pick a result here.”
Nigeria National Table Tennis coach Nosir Bello has stated that he is confident Nigeria will come out with victories in the final of the ITTF Africa top 16 cup in Tunisia.
Bello speaking in a chat with www.brila.net ahead of today’s showpiece finals backed Edem Offiong to cause an upset against the women’s title favourite and defending champion Dina Meshref and also believed Quadri ousting the men’s title holder may just have opened the door for him to be Africa champion against another tough Egyptian in Ahmed Saleh.
“Our chances are bright because Aruna’s form is back and also Edem Offiong also played very well in the semi final before she got to the final stage and with all what is happening here now, I can say that our chances are very bright. We are not shaking, I believe they are going to play well and we will celebrate.”
Africa Table Tennis Federation Vice President and member of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation Barrister Waheed Enitan Oshodi has hailed the Nigerian duo of Aruna Quadri and Offiong Edem after both players secured qualification for the final of the ongoing ITTF Africa top 16 cup in Tunisia for both men and women categories respectively.
Oshodi speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said they’re expecting a big final in both categories and sees the Nigerian duo of Aruna Quadri and Offiong Edem putting up a good enough show to emerge as Africa champion.
He also praised Aruna for ousting the defending champion of the men category at the semi final Omar Assar in a pulsating clash that finished 4-3 in favour of the Nigerian player.
“We’re expecting a big final. I don’t see why Offiong can’t come through. It’s never going to be easy when you’re playing against the best female that has been around for the last few years, you expect it hot. With the men we are really hoping for a great final.
Aruna Quadri comes through against Omar Assar it’s probably the best semi final match I’ve seen played in Africa in a long time but you know Aruna is world class now.”
