Newly appointed Assistant coach and former Captain of the Super Eagles, Joseph Yobo says he cannot wait to start in his new position.
Coach of NPFL side Dakada FC Caleb Esu has stated that his side is in the league to stay and is ready to prove a point by competing with anybody in the league after been forced to a 2-2 draw by city rivals Akwa united in Wednesday’s NPFL tie between the two Uyo based sides.
Enyimba forward Victor Mbaoma has stated that the People’s Elephants 3-0 win over Wikki Tourist lead by former Enyimba coach Usman Abdallah is a strong indication of the strength of the People’s Elephants and potential of the team now that the team is on a good run of form with four straight win in four in all competition.
Former Super Eagles coach Christian Chukwu has hailed the appointment of erstwhile National team skipper Joseph Yobo after been named assistant Super Eagles coach to replace Imama Amapakabo.
Chukwu speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said he expects Joseph Yobo to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the team and believes he will be able to be of positive influence to the players having captained some of them before and hopes he gets to complement the head coach Gernot Rohr.
“He deserves the post and I wish him all the best and I believe that he will add his experience into the team. The coach will have a big respect for him knowing his capabilities as a player and former captain of the team, the players will be loyal to him and he is always sincere and I wish he has a very good cooperation with the coach Gernot Rohr.”
Nigeria’s senior women basketball national team Forward Evelyn Akhator has expressed her delight following Nigeria’s latest progress recorded in the latest FIBA women’s world basketball ranking moving from 17 to 14 on the strength of the team’s impressive showing at the recently concluded Olympic qualifying tournament in Serbia.
Akhator speaking in a chat with www.brila.net expressed gratitude to God for what the team has been able to achieve within the last three years and revealed that it’s been a great feeling for the players too who are glad to be part of the team making this giant strides and hope to make history as a unit.
“We thank God for putting our name in the world map, nobody knew Nigeria three years ago but we kept pushing by every tournament we play and we kept going into the world ranking. I’m just glad we’re making history, we’re making name for the country representing the country. And I believe people should keep watching while we make history.”
