President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation Professor Yaya Ukwuenya has urged the Nigeria Cricket national team to take advantage of her invitation to compete for a world cup spot after been invited to replace Zimbabwe who got suspended by the International Cricket Council for government interference.
Ukwuenya speaking in a chat gathered by brila.net said the Nigerian side should try as much as possible to give their best shot after having initially missed out on qualification to this point at the world cup early qualifying round.
He urged the team to emulate the U19 who have their place already in the 2020 T20 U19 world cup.
“We have spoken to the boys about this and we are looking at things differently now, there are 6 qualifying places up for grabs and we will be faced with some of the toughest teams in the qualifiers.
We have prepared the mind of these players to see the obstacles and try to overcome them and qualify.”
