Nigeria Football legend, Kanu Nwankwo has mourn the passing of his former Arsenal teammates Jose Antonio Reyes, Says he’s devastated to hear the sad news.
Reyes‘ death was confirmed on Twitter by his boyhood club Sevilla, for whom Reyes played nearly 250 games.
Reyes was member of Arsenal’s invincible team of 2004 that had the likes of Thiery Henry, Fredrick Ljunberg, Patrick Vieira and Kanu Nwankwo to name a few.
The four times Europa League winner was said to have died from traffic collision near his hometown along with his 23 year old cousin.
Kanu described the late left footed forward as a perfect gentleman and pray for his departed soul to rest in peace.

Former Arsenal star José Antonio Reyes has been killed in a traffic accident in his hometown of Utrera, Sevilla FC confirmed the news of his death on Saturday morning.
The incident happened at 11:40 hours this morning when the car in which Reyes was travelling in veered off the A-376 motorway from de Seville to Utrera and caught fire.
Reyes was 20 when he moved to Arsenal in January 2004 in a deal worth £17.5m and in his third appearance for the club, scored twice to knock Chelsea out of the FA Cup, including a screamer from outside the box.
He was a member of the ‘Invincible’ side that remained unbeaten for the 2003/04 season and eventually moved back to Spain, initially on loan to Real Madrid in 2006, before joining Atletico Madrid permanently in 2007.
He joined Sevilla for a second stint in 2012 and remained there until 2016. Since then Reyes has played for Espanyol, Córdoba, Xinjiang Tianshan Leopard and, most recently, Extremadura.
Former Nigeria stars Nwankwo Kanu and Daniel Amokachi have been named by CAF as Ambassadors for the forthcoming AFCON in Egypt.
Kanu and Amokachi have featured for Nigeria at the AFCON as well as the World Cup.
Other former stars to serve as Ambassadors at the AFCON are Samuel Eto’o Fils of Cameroon as well as Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure from Cote d’Ivoire.
The 2019 AFCON will be staged between June 21 and July 20 in Egypt.
The Super Eagles are drawn in a first round group that has Burundi, Guinea and Madagascar.
