Nigeria must focus on building a solid team for the world cup and bother less on the strength or weakness of their group opponents at this time, D’Tigers point guard Stan Okoye told brila.net.
The Spain based D’Tigers star offered his thoughts on what the team needs to do ahead of the FIBA Basketball World Cup following the outcome of the draw at the weekend.
He admits Nigeria’s group is ‘fair’ enough considering the strength of the opponents. ‘ We are familiar with Argentina , we’ve played them several times in the psst.
‘I play in the same league as some of their players.
Russia are also a great side with players in the Euro league and NBA. Although South Korea aren’t a pronounced side, we can’t write them off.
But at this point I’d say we need to focus and work more on our team than bother much about our opponents.’
