Nigeria Paralympic Committee plans para-sports development in Nigeria – Bankole

First vice-president of the newly inaugurated Nigeria Paralympic committee DCP Anderson Bankole has revealed plans to help develop Nigeria’s Para sports sphere of dominance beyond two sports so as to increase Nigeria’s medal chances in international para-sports competitions.
Bankole speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said Nigeria’s para-athletes have been a source of major medal hopefuls for Nigeria, hence the need to expand Nigeria’s medal capabilities by ensuring that other para-sports Federations witness remarkable growth.
Nigeria’s para power athletes emerged as the overall medal winner at the just concluded International Para Powerlifters championship in Lagos with 20 Gold, 15 Silver and 7 Bronze.

Eaglets set to resume camping ahead U17 AFCON – Sanusi

NFF Scribe Dr. Mohammed Sanusi has informed that the Nigeria U17 national team have had their program approved and should hit camp in the coming days to the weekend as the team begin the journey to represent Nigeria competitively at the U17 AFCON.
Sanusi speaking in a chat with www.brila.net informed that as part of the Nigeria Football Federation’s plan to have the U17 national team adequately prepared, the football Federation have also secured Nigeria’s participation at an 8 nation tourney slated for Japan.
The Nigeria U17 national team are among the 7 qualified teams that will join host nation Tanzania in the upcoming CAF Africa U17 AFCON.

Rohr has “little problem” with Uzoho 4 months before AFCON

The Super Eagles may be facing another goalkeeping dilemma four months to the Africa Cup of Nations as Super Eagles Head Coach Gernot Rohr has admitted that first choice goalie Francis Uzoho needs more game time.
Uzoho, who is on loan from Deportivo La Coruna to fellow La Liga 2 side Elche CF, has been dropped to second choice and now needs to get another loan move Rohr explained to brila.net.
The German admits Uzoho’s situation is not acceptable and even describes it as a “little problem” which must be dealt with.
It is believed Uzoho will attempt to seek a move away from Spain, as the level of competition is very intense.

Rangers Int’l FC Head Coach Gbenga Ogunbote is not bothered with being underrated in Nigeria.

 

Ogunbote who has managed Sunshine Stars, Enyimba and Shooting Stars told brila.net he doesn’t care much where the recognition comes from.

 

Last season, Ogunbote guided Rangers to a dramatic Aiteo Cup win in his first season on the job, helping the Flying Antelopes reach the Confederation Cup.

 

Previously, he led Sunshine stars to the final four of the Confederation Cup and Champions League in back to back seasons.

CAF Appoints Amunike Into U-20 AFCON Technical Study Group

Former Super Eagles winger Emmanuel Amuneke has been appointed into Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Technical Study Group (TSG) for the U-20 AFCON which kick-off in Niger Republic on Saturday.

The Tanzania national team head coach was appointed into into the Technical Study Group because Tanzania is not participating in the tournament.

“I’m going to Niamey, Niger Republic, for the U-20 Nations Cup”,

 

“CAF has appointed me as a member of their TSG and that’s why I’m traveling (to Niger).”

“Tanzania is not participating in the U20 AFCON. I’m going as a CAF Technical Study Group member. He told the media.

Amuneke will be hoping to enjoy himself with the new adventure as he continues his tremendous rise in the game of football.

Flying Eagles goalkeeper Wale Oremade says the team was inspired by the presence of Super Eagles head Coach, Gernot Rohr, in their camp before the team’s departure to Niger.
Nigeria’s U20 men’s team will participate in the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations and the players have been assured that standout performers at the competition will be handed senior team invites, by Rohr.
Wale, who is one of three goalkeepers selected by Coach Paul Aigbogun in told brila.net on the eve of their departure that the German urged the team to also play as a team and ensure they help Nigeria qualify for the FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland.
