Super Eagles and Crotone of Italy striker Simeon Nwankwo says featuring at the 2018 World Cup with the Super Eagles is the greatest moment of his career.
Nwankwo made his debut from Nigeria against Democratic Republic t Congo in Porth Harcourt before he gatecrashed into the Nigeria squad to the World Cup after scoring 6 goals in the final eight matches of the Italian Serie A season.
Speaking to Serie B Magazine, Simy said : ”The call for the World Cup? Last year was the best and most important year of my career. I fulfilled a dream, to wear the shirt of Nigeria and also to play the World Cup.
”It was fantastic, but I’m still disappointed because the Crotone did not stay in Serie A.”
Crotone was relegated to the Serie B last season and are currently one point above the relegation zone after 16 round of matches, Simy insists his side stage a stage a come back to elite division.
”We had to be candidates for promotion and we continue to be candidates until the end, even if at this moment we are not where we want but we do not change goals, we always play to win and the team has the qualities to do it. ”
Nwankwo hasn’t been called back into the Super Eagles since after the World Cup has scored three goals in fifteen matches.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons players are N2.2m richer after Capitalists Aliko Dangote and Abdul Samad redeemed their combine N75m promises made to the team after they successfully won the 11th African Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana last month.

Brila.net gathered that the players received thethe money before the Christmas Holidays, with each player pocketed N2.2m.
A source told brila.net’s Seyi Alao that a total of N46.2m was shared among the 21 players not including the officials that were in Ghana for the tournament.
“Each player got N1.5m from Dangote and N700,000 from BUA which came to N2.2m,” a source said.
The NFF had paid the team 10,000 USD per player pledge for clinching their 9th AWCON title.
Nigeria will take on Korea Republic, Norway and hosts Nation France in Group A of the Women’s world cup which begins in June.
Anthony Joshua can forget about becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world for now as WBC king Deontay Wilder only want to face Tyson Fury in rematch after the first boutended in a controversy draw earlier this month on December 1.

Nigeria international Eddie Onazi turns 26 on the 25th of December 2018, a day after he underwent a successful surgery on his injured Achilles which has ruled him out of action for the rest of the season.
Onazi who sustained the injury while in action for his Turkish clubTrabzonspor against Rizespor in a league game on Sunday night and he was stretched off two minutes after half hour.
However, after the surgery , the Former Lazio midfielder was not alone in the hospital as he was pictured with Trabzonspor‘s President Ahmet Ağaoğlu who came alongside the club staffs to celebrate the player’s birthday.
“Our President Ahmet Ağaoğlu celebrated the surprise birthday party at the hospital where Ogenyi Onazi was treated. He presentee Onazi with a cake and hoped he will get better on time so that he can take his place in the team,” reads a statement on Trabzonspor’s official website.
Onazi is not expected to be back in action this season as the injury will keep him for 6-7 months .
