Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze was on target for his Club Villareal as they beat Real Betis 2:1 in a Spanish La Liga match played at Estadio De La Ceramica on Sunday.

Puel hails Super Eagles duo for effort Leicester’s draw at Brighton
Claude Puel is full of praise for Super Eagles Stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi after the duo came on to rescue a point for the Foxes against Brighton on Saturday.
Leicester were a goal and a man down in the opening 30 minutes, thanks to a Gleen Murray’s 15th minutes opener and James Madison‘s red card in 28th minutes.
Puel introduced Ndidi minutes for Vincent Ibora in the 32nd minutes , shortly after the red card, while Iheanacho replaces Japanese striker Shinji Okazaki with 20 minutes left to on the clock.
The embattled Super Eagles striker won a late penalty and it was calmly converted by another substitute Jamie Vardy to the delight of the former Southampton manager.
“I’m happy for all my players. The players that came off from the bench gave also a good mentality,” Puel told LCFC TV.
“The quality of [Kelechi] Iheanacho, [Wilfred] Ndidi and Jamie [Vardy] and all of the squad pushed from the same side and I like this.”
Ndidi missed the Super Eagles 2019 AFCON qualifier clash with South Africa in Johannesburg through suspension, while Iheanacho featured in the game.
Leicester City are now 10th on with 18 points from 13 games.
AWCON 2018: Semifinal clash with Cameroon will not be easy – Chikwelu warns Falcons
Super Falcons Midfielder Rita Chikwelu has told her teammates not to get carried with the back to back victories over Zambia and Equatorial Guinea, As she believes Cameroon will hard knot to crack.
The Falcons won their last two Group B games against Zambia and Equatorial Guinea to book a semi-final with the Cameroonians who finished first in Group A.
Speaking after their training session in Accra, the experience midfielder said the clash with the Lioness of Cameroon won’t be an easy one, but assured Nigerians that the team will do everything possible to make it to the final.
“I’m so happy I scored my first goal in the African Women Cup of Nations, also happy the team did well in the last game.
“Against Cameroon, it will not be easy considering the last final, but we will give our best to ensure we make it to the final of AWCON.”
Chikwelu who shares the responsibility of leading the team with Onome Ebi showered encomium on the Nigerian Football Federation for paying all the team allowances, As she believes the move has motivated the girls to do well.
“You can see that in the 2nd and 3rd game, the girls were happy for what the NFF had done, before our 2nd game we got all our entitlements and they gave us the support we need, we hope they continue as we will continue to do our best.”
The Super Falcons will clash with the Lioness of Cameroon on Tuesday by 3:30pm GMT/4:30pm Nigeria time.
Nigeria technical adviser Gernot Rohr backed out of form Leicester City attacker Kelechi Iheanacho to rediscover his form and play a big role at the 2019 AFCON in Cameroon.
Iheanacho, 22, has endured a torrid time with the National team after making a blistering start to his Super Eagles career, scoring seven goals in 11 matches.
However, following his recent lackluster performances in the colour of National team, he became a victim of criticism from fans on social media and even some has called for exclusion from the team.
“We have all seen how Iheanacho has been playing for the national team. He is a good player and his fighting spirit is exceptional,” Rohr told the media.
“But of late, his form has dropped. So also has his self confidence, which is very low. And when you lack self confidence you cannot score goals,” said Rohr.
Nigeria sealed her return to the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon with a draw against South Africa last week, Iheanacho, again was at a center of controversy when he couldn’t control a perfect pass from Ahmed Musa with goalkeeper just in front of him.
“He missed what would have been our first goal in South Africa. But I believe it is a temporary set-back.“
“Iheanacho has a chance to regain his confidence with his club and play a big role for us in Cameroon,” Rohr added.
Iheanacho has scored eight goals in 24 matches for Nigeria since making his senior debut against Swaziland in November 2015.
