Super Eagles Legend and Former Golden Eaglets Coach Emmanuel Amunike has been confirmed as the new head Coach of the Tanzanian national team.
The 47-year-old Amunike penned a two-year deal to take over from Salum Mayanga, who was sacked for poor results.
The former Super Eagles and Barcelona forward led Nigeria U-17 team to World Cup glory in 2015 and has managed several clubs including Sudan’s Al Khartoum, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hazm amongst others.
Amunike’s top target will be to attempt to get the Taifa Stars Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign back on track.
Tanzania are in group L of the 2019 Afcon qualifiers alongside Uganda, Lesotho and Cape Verde.
They are currently joint second in the group standing with Lesotho after both teams played out 1-1 draw in the first round of matches.
Uganda leads the group with three points as they defeated Cape Verde away from home.
Turkish Clubside, Yeni Malatyaspor has confirmed the impending arrival of Alex Song after agreeing to terms on principle with the Cameroonian.
Malatyaspor is aiming at strengthening their team having recently signed up Brazilian player, Guilherme are now close to taking up Alex Song from Rubin Kazan.
The Turkish side are paying for the services of Super Eagles and AFCON 2013 hero, Sunday Mba who joined in 2015 after securing a move away from French side, Bastia.

Nigeria Super Falconets on Monday afternoon lost 1-0 to Germany in their first Group game at the U20 Women World Cup going on in France.
A second-half goal from Stefanie Sanders earned Germany a 1-0 victory over the Falconets in their Group D U20 Women’s World Cup encounter at the Stade de Marville in Saint-Malo.
The physical German side tossed the ball around in the early exchanges and attacked with intent.
The Falconets, were, however, very composed at the back with Chidinma Okeke marshaling the defense line and almost leveled matters in the 72nd minute. Efih’s right-footed drive agonizingly hit the woodwork.
Nigeria will take on Haiti in the second Group game at the same venue on Thursday.
Super Eagles winger, Samuel Kalu, has left Belgian Jupiler side, KAA Gent, to link up with French Ligue 1 side, Girondins Bordeaux on a five- year deal.
Bordeaux announced on Sunday that they have reached an agreement with Gent for the transfer of the talented winger.

Kalu comes in as a direct replacement for Brazilian winger Malcom who joined Spanish champions Barcelona this summer for €30m from Bordeaux.
England forward Marcus Rashford has been handed the iconic Number 10 Jersey at Manchester United ahead of the incoming 2018/2019 EPL Season.
It remains to be seen whether the change from his former No 19 jersey means Rashford will given a more important role in Jose Mourinho’s attack next season.
Rashford revealed his delight at the decision on Instagram, posting a photo of him wearing the jersey with the caption: ‘Wearing the shirt worn by United legends, honoured #MR10.’
United’s squad was boosted by the presence of Rashford and Phil Jones after Mourinho was able to include both England stars following their early return from summer breaks.
Both players were due to be off until midweek, but agreed to come back prematurely to boost numbers. Rashford and Jones made their return to training on Saturday and took part at the Allianz Arena, their final tie before the start of the new season.
Belgium Number one Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has told new Chelsea Manager Maurizio Sarri he wants to leave the Stamford Bridge Clubside.
The Belgian goalkeeper reportedly met with the Italian following the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City at Wembley.
And with Sarri open to selling players not committed, Courtois, with a year left on his deal, has made his intentions apparent, according to ESPN.
The Blues boss reiterated his desire to hear directly from Courtois if he wanted to push through a move before to Real Madrid before the end of the month.

Aruna Quadri has become the first Nigerian and the second African to make the top 18 ranking in the monthly ranking of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).
To achieve his highest career ranking, Quadri rose from 20 to 18 in the August 2018 rating released at the weekend by the world table tennis ruling body.
The fortune of Quadri in the monthly ranking improved following his performance at the Australian Open where he made it to the last 16 of the men’s singles. And with this rating, the Oyo State-born athlete continues to halter his own record as the only Nigerian to achieve top 18 rating in the world.
A joyful Aruna Quadri believes the rating would afford him another opportunity to continue to work harder. “I am so happy with the ranking particularly with my qualification for the ITTF World Cup in France.
Again, this ranking has shown that I should not relax but continue to work harder because remaining on top is one of the difficult tasks for any athlete.
This goes to show that I must redouble my efforts in training and continue to compete in major competitions across the globe.
I will not be carried away by this rating but be humbled by this feat and remain focused in order to maintain my status in the global rating,” the number seed of the 2018 ITTF Challenge Seamaster Nigeria Open said.
It was Omar Assar of Egypt who still maintained the record as the first African player to be ranked in top 16 in the world but the inactiveness of the Egyptian in the last two months may had caused his fortune in the world rating to plummet.

Also, the new leader on the ITTF World Tour Standings; China’s Xu Xin is the player to make the most significant progress on the Men’s World Rankings issued for August 2018.
He climbs three positions to no.5 to replace Germany’s Timo Boll who drops one position to no.3, being behind compatriot – Fan Zhendong who continues to lead the list.
One place lower for Timo Boll, it is the same for China’s Lin Gaoyuan who drops to no.4 and Germany’s OVTCHAROV Dimitrij who now appears at no.5.
Conversely, Japan’s Tomokazu Harimoto progresses from no.8 to no.6 and is now ahead of China’s Ma Long and Korea Republic’s Lee Sangsu; each is one rung down the ladder lower than in July.
In the women’s rating, finalists at the recent 2018 ITTF World Tour Platinum Australian Open in Geelong, with Liu Shiwen beating Ding Ning in all Chinese final, both make notable progress on the Women’s World Rankings for August.
Former occupants of the top spot, Liu Shiwen climbs four places to no.2, being one behind colleague, Zhu Yuling who continues to head the list; Ding Ning makes an even greater move. Previously at no.17, she is now in the no.7 spot.
Likewise, women’s singles number one seed for 2018 ITTF Challenge Seamaster Nigeria Open, Thailand’s Suthasini Sawettabut advances from no.59 to no.39, DPR Korea’s Kim Song I from no.55 to no.45, Japan’s Minami Ando from no.74 to no.46 and Singapore’s Zeng Jian from no.60 to no.50.
