West Brom have gone ahead to announce they have landed the signature of striker, Daniel Sturridge on a loan deal.
The Baggies have made the news public by confirming the capture of the 28-year-old on their various social media platforms.
Meanwhile, the Englishman is a versatile footballer who can feature in different forward positions as a number nine or winger.
With his loan move to the Hawthorns, Sturridge is now set to get regular game time during a six-month stint.
Reports last week suggested Newcastle were edging closer to snapping him up on loan before the winter transfer window ends.
The Mail also dropped a hint the Reds manager, Jurgen Klopp was ready to allow the player join the Magpies.
With West Brom getting Sturridge, the attacker has become manager, Alan Pardew’s second recruit of the transfer window in January.
And that is aftermath of the arrival of a central defender, Ali Gabr from Egyptian club, Zamalek also on loan.
Sturridge had reportedly been having serious January transfer links with a move to the likes of Inter Milan and Sevilla.
Valid media reports coming from the Daily Mail suggested the striker was on the strong radar of the two clubs.
The arrival of the Sturridge will help the Baggies in their battle to survive relegation from this season’s Premier League.
Pardew who wants to take the club to another height sees Sturridge as one to help them achieve this feat.
