Breaking: Turkish side, Bursaspor set to rescue Nigerian Forward Ahmed Musa from Leicester City
Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa might be set to end his Leicester City Nightmare with a move away from the King Power Stadium as Turkish side Bursaspor about to seal a deal.
William Troost-Ekong and Mikel Agu are already on the books of the Turkish Super Lig team and they may be joined by Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa.
According to bursahakimiyet.com.tr, the French coach of Bursaspor Paul Le Guen is in contact with Nigerian national team coach Gernot Rohr and has also opened a line of communication with Leicester City manager Claude Puel over the availability of Musa.
With the former CSKA Moscow star valued in the region of 15 million euros by transfer market experts, Bursaspor might not be able to acquire him on a permanent basis, hence a loan deal until the end of this season is the most feasible option.
With the 2018 World Cup approaching and Musa is seeking a new team that can offer him playing opportunities.
The 25-year-old is contracted to Leicester City until June 30, 2020.
It is reported that Ahmed Musa, who can not have much chance to form in Leicester City this season, is positively approaching the one-time life from the Yeşil Beyazlılar Club to wear regular form before the World Cup with vitrine with Nigerian National Team.
Ahmed Musa, who has earlier in his career represented Kano Pillars, Venlo and CSKA Moscow of Russia until today, has scored 68 times in 244 professional league matches.
The 25-year-old footballer has also performed well with the Nigerian National Team, having scored 11 goals in 39 games, including a brace against Argentina at the 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP in Brazil.
Manchester United boss,Jose Mourinho has responded to the “garbage news” which hit the back pages on earlier today.
Daily Mail claimed Mourinho was cutting an “increasingly detached figure” at United, and claimed the club are growing ever more concerned he could quit at the end of the season.
“Speaking about my work and connecting my work to the garbage news is to say the worst thing anyone can do to myself, is not to say that I am a bad manager, is not to say I am under performing, not to say I made a mistake in this game or that game.
“The worst thing someone can do is put one inch of doubt into my professionalism, my dedication to my club, my job, my players, to every detail related to my job, so yes the garbage news affected me just on this aspect because it’s something I don’t admit.
“But again I repeat I am in the middle of my contract, if I am going to sign a new one or not it depends on the club but my commitment with the club is total and I want to stay.
“I see myself here (after three years), is just a question of the club, the board the owners, Mr Woodward, they are all happy with my contribution and they want me to stay beyond the end of this contract,” said Mourinho.
His demeanour has come under scrutiny as United have fallen further behind runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Yet he moved to banish notions he has lost his appetite during a fighting performance.
“Because I don’t behave as a clown on the touchline, it means that I lost my passion,” Mourinho argued.
“I prefer to behave the way I am doing it, much more mature, better for my team and myself, I don’t think you have to behave like a crazy guy on the touchline to have that passion.
“That passion, you see it every day. The way a person is dedicated to his work, not what you do in front of the cameras.”
Few weeks after images of a footballer hugging the sole of a State governor’s shoe at a protest for unpaid sign-on fees hit the media, news is the government has yielded.
Nigeria Basketball team Captain IK Diogu has agreed to a contact on Tuesday with the Sichuan Blue Whales of the Chinese Basketball Association, freelance reporter David Pick reports.
A lottery pick by the Warriors in 2005, the 34-year-old Diogu hasn’t made an NBA appearance since 2011-12. It appears safe to say that the Nigerian national will play overseas for the remainder of his career
Sichuan Blue Whales are currently languishing in the 20th position in the Chinese Basketball League having won only three games and lost 19 so far.
Diogu who previously featured for CBA Xinjiang, Guangdong, Shenzhen, Tong Xi, in the same quarter Xi, averaged 25 points and 11.1 rebounds last season playing for Jiangsu Monkey King.
He could make his debut for Sichuan Blue Whales against Shanghai Dongfang in Friday’s clash in the Chinese Basketball League.
Diogu won the Most Valuable Player Award at the 2017 FIBA AfroBasket 2017 in Rades, Tunisia, recording a tournament-high of 22 points per game, and averaged 8.7 rebounds per game.
The former CBA Xinjiang top man is expected to lead Nigeria’s D’Tigers to next month’s FIBA African Qualifiers for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Senegal.
CSKA Moscow of Russia striker Aaron Samuel is relishing the excitement of making the Nigeria World Cup squad next summer.
The Super Eagles are drawn in Group D alongside eternal World Cup rivals and South American side Argentina as well as Eastern European giants Croatia and European Cinderella team Iceland.
Nigeria was the first nation from Africa to qualify for the World Cup and are looking to move beyond the threshold of Quarter-finals for the first time in their fifth outing at the global football showpiece.
Genort Rohr-led Eagles are in the race to get the best legs and with attention solely on getting strikers, Samuel could be a favourite should he improve with the Russia giants.
The 23-year-old has been left out of the senior national team since 2015 after making just seven appearances in his hitherto one-year spell in the national jersey.
However, he is saying he is desirous of making the Nigeria squad to the World Cup next year, but admits he needs more time on the pitch and will have show that with enough goals.
“It will be a good thing, and it is very important for me,” he says of the chance to play at the World Cup.
“Russia is where I am based, I know the country and the weather and as the World Cup is being played in the country where I am based, it will be very exciting for me to play in it.”
“I need to start playing more, because I have not been playing so much at the moment because of some issues.
“For me to be at the World Cup, I need to play more and it is something I am working on,” he added.
So far this season, Samuel has not been in World Cup level form for CSKA, having managed just a goal in 17 league appearances.
