Barcelona have officially re-signed Spanish striker Gerard Deulofeu from Everton after exercising their buy-back option within the player’s contract.
Barca confirmed the transfer on Friday afternoon, taking to their official website and social media channels to announce terms will be agreed with both the player and Everton.
The 23 year old, who is currently on international duty with Spain Under-21s, will put pen to paper on a two year deal with the club.
The Catalans announced on their website: ‘FC Barcelona have activated the buy-back clause for Gerard Deulofeu,’ the Catalan side announced on their website.
‘In the following days, the terms will be agreed with both Everton and the player. Deulofeu’s contract will run until 30 June 2019.’
Talented American-born defender of Nigerian descent Matthew Olosunde has strongly hinted that he has accepted Manchester United’s offer of a new contract.
Olosunde arrived the United Kingdom from Trenton on Friday ahead of the resumption of pre-season training by the academy team of the Red Devils.
Olosunde made Manchester United’s provisional squad for Premier League matches on two occasions last season, and is hoping to make his professional debut for the first team in the new season.
Olosunde told Trentonian Soccer.”It was my first full season playing with the (under) 23, it was pretty great.
”I really enjoyed it and had a pretty successful season for the most part. I really grew as a player and being able to get called up to the first team a couple times was a great experience.”
He added : ” To make my debut, I hope to achieve that this season. If I can make a couple more appearances after that and maybe stay as a steady option for the first team.”
Alexis Sanchez claims he knows whether he will stay at Arsenal or leave this summer – but the Chile international is refusing to make his decision public.
Sanchez has one year to run on his contract and has given no indication he is ready to sign another one, despite Arsenal’s desperation to tie him down.
Manchester City lead the clubs who want Sánchez and they are confident of signing the 28-year-old for around £50m. City believe they have the means to beat Arsenal in terms of a salary package.
Sánchez is playing in the Confederations Cup in Russia where Chile will play Germany in the final on Sunday. He was presented for interview on Friday alongside his international team-mate Claudio Bravo, who plays at City.
Sánchez was asked whether he would be a club-mate of Bravo’s next season. “Good question,” he replied. “Right now, I am focused on the Confederations Cup. When this is finished, I will see if I stay or if I go. I don’t know.” He added: “It’s clear [in my mind] but I can’t tell you anything.”
Sánchez was later asked by Sky Sports about the chances of him staying at Arsenal. “I don’t know my friend, I don’t know,” he said.
The nightmare for Arsenal would be to lose Sánchez, their leading scorer and undoubted star, to a Premier League rival but the City manager, Pep Guardiola, has some pull in this case. He brought Sánchez from Udinese to Barcelona in the summer of 2011 and worked with him there for one season.

Andy Murray was back on the practice court at Wimbledon on Friday morning, with the draw having given him a reasonable outcome – if he is fit enough to take advantage of it.
The world No 1 was paired against a qualifier in round one with a possible meeting against flamboyant German-Jamaican Dustin Brown in round two.
He is due to face Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals, having been kept on the opposite side of the draw from favourite Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
PROJECTED QUARTER-FINALS

Nadal v Cilic

Thiem v Djokovic#Wimbledon— Wimbledon (@Wimbledon) June 30, 2017
However, the state of his fitness is still uncertain, and when he was hitting against Steve Darcis he was moving somewhat gingerly, flexing his hip while leaning against the net while taking a breather. He was also limping on his way to the courts.
But his return to practice suggests there is no question that he will not open the programme at 1pm on Monday as is tradition for the defending champion.
Murray’s first week does not look too taxing if he can get going, but his fourth round could present a match against the hugely dangerous Australian with a theoretical quarter final against Stan Wawrinka.
All in all he could certainly have had more difficult draws for his defence.
Federer will open against the unorthodox Alex Dolgopolov with his quarter of the draw looking relatively benign.
Djokovic has the talented Martin Klizan as his first opponent and could meet Juan Martin Del Potro in the third round.
Del Potro has one of the most intriguing first rounds, facing the dangerous Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis, who is on his way back from injury.
Rafael Nadal could have a difficult third round against the fast rising Russian Karen Khachanov.
GB No 2 Kyle Edmund has never won a match at Wimbledon but will get a chance this time when he faces a qualifier, whose names have yet to be put in the draw, including world number 855 Alex Ward.
British wildcard Cameron Norrie will have a baptism of fire against Jo Wilfried Tsonga, while James Ward takes on Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis.
