Cristiano Ronaldo suffered professional disappointment on Wednesday night when Portugal were knocked out the Confederations Cup – but his personal joy on Thursday surely more than made up for it.
The SAFA Search Committee met on Thursday, 29 June 2017 at SAFA House to finalise the identification and recommend the suitable candidate for the position of the Women’s Senior National Team coach.
According to a report from Own Goal Nigeria, the lack of a signature from Henry Onyekuru’s current club Eupen is holding up confirmation of the deal.
Onyekuru, 20, took to social media earlier this week to suggest that a move to the Toffees had been agreed, but Everton fans were left confused when there was no official announcement from Goodison Park.
Now Own Goal Nigeria appears to have cleared up the confusion, claiming that while a deal has been agreed, including the fact that Onyekuru will spend the first year of his five-year contract on loan at Anderlecht, Eupen are yet to put their signature to the official documentation.
There is no concern that a deal could fall through at this late stage, with the report suggesting that it is a formality and could even be done in the next few hours.
Onyekuru was in superb form for the Belgian club last season, scoring 24 goals and providing nine assists in 41 appearances.
Although he played predominantly from the left wing last season, the young Nigerian is also comfortable up front and it is there where he is expected to shine further down the line.
Everton have already completed some superb transfer business this summer and Onyekuru joins an increasingly long list of savvy additions.
While Everton fans will not get to see him up close for the next 12 months, they will be keeping a close eye on Anderlecht before finally welcoming him into the first-team fold in 2018.

Irresponsible? Surgeons celebrate a penalty save while watching Chile v Portugal on TV… in the middle of an OPERATION
A team of surgeons have been ticked off for celebrating a penalty save for Chile against Portugal mid-operation after the game went down to a knife-edge shootout.
Southampton have joined the race for sought-after Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
Iheanacho, 20, who is rated at around £25m, is already a target of West Ham, Everton and Leicester.
Saints have now joined the pack looking to snap the youngster up, with new boss Mauricio Pellegrino wanting a star forward for next season.
And City could be interested in selling the Nigerian ace to the South Coast side if full-back Ryan Bertrand was part of the deal.
Pep Guardiola is a huge fan of the 27-year-old England defender, and sees him as an option should other targets not be signed.
The ex-Barcelona boss is hoping to land Dani Alves, Benjamin Mendy and Kyle Walker all within the next three weeks.
An Etihad source said: “Southampton are now part of a long list of clubs that want Kelechi this summer.
“If the right offer comes in, he will go, and Ryan Bertrand is an option that has been talked about in the past.
