He converted his kick and brought Norwich level after Kenny McLean missed his; the Canaries first.
Norwich eventually eliminated Jose Mourinho’s side 3-2 on penalties and progressed to the quarter-final round.
It has been a dream season for the 19 year-old Idah, who previously scored three goals in the competition, an impressive hat-trick against Preston.
The Norwich U23 player has also made two league appearances for the Canaries this season and got an appearance in the League Cup.
His form has been exciting and has caught the eyes of the Republic of Ireland Manager Mick McCarthy.
Idah is eligible to play for Nigeria – through his Father – having only featured as a junior international for Ireland.
He’s such a big prospect, at least at club level, Norwich taking a big bet on the player with a contract extension until 2023, after spending only two seasons with the Club’s Under-18s and Under-23s sides.
