Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has fallen out of the top 10 in the latest women’s hurdles rankings, according to the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

Amusan, 27, is now ranked 13th globally, dropping four places from her previous position.

This decline comes after her disappointing performance at the Paris Olympics, where she failed to qualify for the final.

Amusan, the current world record holder in the 100m hurdles, has not competed since July and missed the latter part of this athletic season, including the Diamond League final in Brussels.

Ahead of the Brussels event, she was ranked 84th in the overall women’s 100m rankings and 9th in the hurdles.

Following the event, her overall ranking plummeted to 134th — the first time since 2019 that Amusan has been ranked outside the top 100 in overall standings and out of the top 10 in the hurdles.

Amusan had previously reached the pinnacle of the sport, holding the world number one spot after her gold medal win at the 2022 World Championships in Oregon.
